As a 25 year tech veteran i have been through many layoffs, not too many companies take care, sorry they were deceptive, it happens a lot, sadly.

I think on the gov.t level you need a law to protect employees in case of layoffs. For example if you as a company do smth similar in Italy, you’ll go through hell of a law system+labor assoc.n 🪦

Exactly! And when they are honest about the reason for the layoff that also makes a big difference instead of projecting their shortcomings onto you and telling you your performance sucks
