Usually I feature perfumes that I love, but today’s post is a little different. I wanted to compare two perfumes that to my nose are almost identical. One of them is very popular and another one is a new release. But while it’s not the scent for me, I do love other perfumes from Theodoros Kalotinis and I have Giardini Di Toscana on my wishlist. Probably there’s not a person who hasn’t heard about 𝗕𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 from Giardini Di Toscana. It’s one of those polarizing perfumes, but most people in my circle seem to love it. So of course I had to try it for myself and, unfortunately, I don’t smell what others smell. In theory, I love the notes, but they don’t play well on my skin. Bianco Latte opens as a rich milky caramel, but quickly turns into something different. It starts smelling as overburnt sugar, which not only caramelized, but also burnt to black pieces. I also get some plastic-y residue and that is the part that bothers me. Recently I purchased a sample of Theodoros Kalotinis 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗲 and the scent felt familiar. Right after spraying it, I could smell the true creamy vanilla custard with burnt sugar on top. I do not smell coconut-y notes neither in the opening nor in the dry down. Once the scent starts drying down, the custard-y note becomes less pronounced and burnt sugar takes the main stage.
