Preparing to get a new phone means I’m finally clearing out years of drafts before I lose them. Some are weeks old, some are months old, and I’m not really sure why I never deleted this one. Maybe because I was hopeful. Maybe because I was cautious. Maybe because a part of me was waiting for life to make sense again. I think most days I still carry an incredible amount of sadness over how life turned out. I look at friends and family, at sweet baby announcements and happy family photos, and quietly wonder, *What did I do wrong to deserve this heartbreak?* The truth is, there isn’t really an answer. Sometimes life just breaks your heart in ways you never saw coming. For so long, I truly believed I had found my happily ever after. Losing that version of my future has been its own kind of grief. And grief is strange—it doesn’t disappear just because you keep moving forward. Some days, I sit with it longer than others. People often assume the funny, unhinged posts mean I’m happy and thriving all the time. The reality is that social media only captures moments, and sometimes the distance between what people see and what you actually feel can be so heavy. Every part of me wants to show people that there is happiness on the other side of heartbreak, because I believe that there is. I just don’t always know when my own moment will come. But maybe healing isn’t about waking up one day without sadness. Maybe it’s learning how to carry hope alongside it. And until my happily ever after looks different than I imagined, I’ll keep moving forward—heartbroken some days, hopeful on others, and trusting that both can exist at the same time. #healing #heartbreak #divorce #infertility #cheating
