I do this too and my family thinks I’m weird. the kids don’t care if it’s “new”. Teaching them to not be unconscious consumers. I wish people would only get me thrifted gifts!

Anything I can’t throw in the washer, I wrap up in a plastic bag and throw in the freezer for a few days. It kills any possible hitchiking bugs 😉
