@somethinaboutbella: Navigating when, where and how you share your queerness can be a lifelong journey. In the beginning, it felt really challenging for me to get a hold on where I wanted to be openly queer, and to what extent. I spent a lot of time negotiating this - testing out what felt good and what didn't. Often times it hurt more to have to put the mask back on than to be my authentic self, but sometimes it was a necessary act of self love and protection.
