Just then, two police officers who were nearby heard the commotion and rushed over. When one of the officers saw the baby struggling to breathe, he immediately took the child into his arms. There was no time to hesitate. He turned the baby face down across his arm and began striking her back. The first strike… nothing happened. The second strike… still nothing. The tension in the air was unbearable as everyone watched, holding their breath. Then suddenly… after another firm strike, the piece of chicken nugget popped out of the baby’s throat. Almost instantly, the little girl began to cry. The sound of that cry brought a wave of relief over everyone standing there.
