Just don’t attach the outside unit to the side of the house. Trust me it will transmit a ton of noise, even though they are actually very quiet even outside.

They also quit working below 15 degrees and when something goes wrong, nobody fixes them. They say it's cheaper to get a whole new unit.

But like anything else they have some drawbacks……. And their maintenance is not as simple as traditional split systems. Also check out high velocity systems….. Very small flexible ducts

We had throughout our house and love them. Really easy to control the temperature in individual rooms so not having to heat or cool the whole house.

I prefer the cassette style units. they look like ceiling vents. they are more expensive than the wall units though.

I love mine. But the installers have to do better with insulating and making sure drains properly. They need to design and plan better for cleaning

SPM here. The cassettes imo are incredibly expensive per unit and are not worth the installation effort, besides the repair cost of one goes down.

Not only that. You can get mini splits with up to 4 ports with a single outdoor unit. Also much more efficient vs central.
