I learnt so much through the planning and kitchen design process for our kitchen renovation last year, and now I am tying it all together with what I have learned about home styling and interior design. The most important thing to do with any home renovation or design projects is to do what you want. I can give you ideas and tips to help guide you when you are a little bit stuck at. Essentially it’s your home to decorate as you wish. But here are some simple things that you can do, whether you are going through a home renovation process, or if you fancy just styling up your kitchen a little bit differently. kitchen shelves are a great way to break up the monotony of kitchen cabinetry and help you feel less boxed in. They really do help to make a space feel more open and they are also useful home storage spaces to help you keep your home more organised. I do appreciate that a lot of people don’t like shelves in the kitchen because they do get dusty. Mine, however, are really good in comparison to the kitchen shelves that I have had in the past. I think the key difference is that my kitchen shelves are on the opposite side of the room to where the hob is with all of the steam from cooking. In our old kitchen, the kitchen shelves were closer to the hob and they did get very dusty. So I do appreciate why some people will not want shelves, but in some cases it can work. This is just something to keep in mind. I love our glass kitchen cabinets and how they break up the solid colour on the wall. This has really helped to make the room feel larger, as do the shelves. A peg rail is a handy storage solution for tea towels and overnight gloves and can also be used for more decorative items too.
