@toolstoday: I have never been able to cut tabs with a multitool consistently without eventually cutting too deep and damaging my workbench. The Festool OSC 18 VECTURO multitool, available from @toolstoday, has a positioning aid attachment that allows you to cut straight and adds a depth stop to it to prevent you from plunging too deep. As an added bonus, it also has dust collection built into it.
