I think it would be good to diversify, keep your six month emergency fund in a mix of cash and gold/silver. People are used to cash, so it makes sense that they would still use it as a bartering tool

We got hit by a super typhoon a few years ago and there was no power or internet so withdrawing from the ATM was next to impossible. I was so glad I had a month’s worth of expenses in cash (and food).
