@adrianna.norman: Sourdough doesnt have to be exact! 🍞You have a LOT more wiggle room than you’d think - here’s proof!! I never really measure exactly, but for someone just starting out, here’s the recipe! 1. Mix: * 1 3/4 cups warm water * 1/4 cup active starter 2. Then add honey (measure w your heart!) 3. Stir 4. Add 4 loosely packed cups of bread flour 5. Mix with spoon or whisk until shaggy dough, then finish mixing with your hands until fully incorporated 6. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt & kneed in lightly 7. Let rest for 30 minutes then stretch and fold 8. Repeat step 7 three more times 9. Allow dough to rise for 8-10 hours on counter 10. Shape dough into a round loaf 11. Score (optional) 12. Second rise for 1-2 hours 13. Bake at 425° for 60 minutes 14. Remove loaf from Dutch oven and allow to cool completely before cutting 15. Thank you!! I have a starter ready to go and went to watch videos to find the best one to give my first loaf a try. It took me a week and two days to feel like my starter is ready enough. I didn’t know until today that you should not stir before doing the float test so it took a few more days! I’m learning more and more with every video, but yours look better and softer then some that are over complicating them. So thank you very much!
