@kids.nutritionist: The progression before 👑Luca started solids! Here are some things I did to help prepare for this new journey: 1. Lots of tummy time. In addition to the numerous benefits, tummy time can help little ones develop better head, neck and back strength. This helps them remain stable in the highchair, allowing proper positioning to reduce the risk of choking. We don’t count the minutes, we just make sure it’s a positive experience. 2. Having him watch us cook and eat together. Research supports this as one of the most important aspect of feeding that helps little ones develop healthy relationships with food and eating. 3. Providing sensory exposure to foods by letting him smell them. This means he’ll be familiar with some foods before he tries them. 4. Letting him play with long stick-shaped teethers to practice the munching motion, and to help him explore the limits of his mouth. If it goes too far back into his mouth and he gags, that is actually helping him learn his limits! This will also help him learn to chew, we have a whole guide on that in the app 📲. 5.Getting the chair ready and checking for 90-90-90 degree positioning! 6. Made sure he had good head and trunk control Click the link in my bio to download free starting solids guides and a free BLW food library 📲. #blw #babyledweaning #blwmealsapp #startingsolids #babyfood
