@jp.apexperformance: If your experiencing jumpers knee and your not doing isos, there’s a likely problem with your routine. Just from personal experience, I feel so much better when I do isos daily (often 2X per day). Why do they work? Well first of all they have an analgesic effect, meaning they will temporarily dampen pain. This is an automatic win. It’s nature’s ibuprofen! Since tendons are viscoelastic, when they’re loaded fast (max effort jumping), they act like a solid and essentially shield the injured part of the tendon, to avoid loading it. When doing these isos or another slow and heavy movement, the viscoelastic properties of the tendon allow it to lengthen, and actually load the injured part of the tendon. LOAD IS A GOOD THING! too much load to fast in the context of sport is not. If you’re not already doing isos at least once per day, you’re missing out…get to work 💪 #basketball #NBA #hooper #slamdunk #dunk #ballislife🏀 #jump #foryou
