@sadeessourdough: Rule no. 1 to sourdough: there are no rules — seriously, with my main starter Penelope I dont even neasure her at all unless im prepping for a bulk bake. So with discarding, you dont have ro discard if you dont want to. You don’t even have to measure in grams if you dont want to (some people use cups) im sharing what I find to be easy for beginners. Heck, you don’t even have to measure at all. You can just feed it equal parts starter, flour and water! #sadeessourdough #penelopesourdoughstarer #sourdoughhippie
This is the simplest way I’ve seen sourdough starter, I think I’m finally ready to try it! Thank you!

I’m so thankful for this!!! I’ve been debating starting a starter but felt like I’ll def mess it up. You’re making it seem like I might be able to do this.

Don’t add any yeast? I have read that juniper berries have natural yeast on them.

Instead of pulling half out, can you cut the amount upfront. 15 grams instead of 30?

Wait how long do you have to wait for “day 2 step”?? If I do it day one in the evening, do I have to wait a full 24hr to do the next step?? Or is 12 hours fine??

Don’t get discouraged - I promise it is so so so easy! Read the caption for discard! And realize you can use any flour! Whole wheat is what I used for winter time bc it helps it grow quicker

“There’s no rules” but also it’s so temperamental and depends on temp and specific amounts but then not specific because maybe a little less? Anyone else still confused? 😂
