Day 14 post-crash. I'll be honest, I'm struggling now. Every day I have surgery with general anaesthetic to try and clear the infection from my amputated leg, in an attempt to not lose more of it. When that leg is finally sealed, praying below the knee. I will have my other snapped leg, collar bone and hand operated on to repair the rest of the fractures. Mentally, I have been in a morphine, pain and sickness induced danger-zone. Plus, I cannot move and have no idea when I'll be out of this. A doctor came to my bed, in one of my darkest moments. He held my hand tight to his body and said: 'I can tell you are strong, you're not doing this for yourself, you are doing it for everyone you can help after’. Maybe it sounds cheesy to an outsider but I was moved to tears... He also said I should see the sun again for the first time in 2 weeks and need to have an ice cream. Normally, I'm on a very strict and bland hospital diet. Sorry for my mum shouting in the background of the vid. She will be very embarrassed I've uploaded this. Love you all, Luke x
