I hate the phrase “everyday procedure.” It’s not MY everyday. This is an EVENT.

yeah I'm a bit insecure about the hollows under my eyes & then I found out filler and fat grafts for eyes carry a risk of BLINDNESS 💀

I got my wisdom teeth out 20 years ago & half of my chin is still completely numb bc they hit a nerve in my jaw. It’s a super common side effect but no one ever talks about it.

I’ve had Botox on my jaw for severe tmj. It worked wonders. But faded away after 6 months and I can’t afford another 🥹

Also have a discussion about pain management. Some people find out after that their doctor will refuse to give them certain meds.

yeah, this is why i decided i dont need botox or fillers. i've seen the long term potentials, i dont want anything to do with them if i dont need them

This is also why I'm terrified of Lasik. I hate having such poor eyesight, but the risks are NOT worth it.

I think one of the biggest things is that people tend to think complications happen when things go wrong, when in fact they are things that can happen when the doctor has done everything correctly

I asked my dermatologist about Botox. She said she would not give me any without a neurologist’s consent cause I had an epilepsy scare. She said there more potential neurological side effects.

These are such good tips in general, especially the one about pain. I have chronic pain and I struggle so much knowing what is and isn't "healing pain", "regular pain" etc.

also ask any questions you have even if they feel like stupid questions ask your medical provider and/or do your own research so you are informed

I view even a laser hair removal treatment as medical. I think getting tattoos and piercings are also medical. Things that still feel invasive for me: waxing, hair, nails
