Up here in Ohio the HVAC technicians recommend pouring 1 cup white vinegar into the condensate pump to keep it clean

I’m an hvac tech and we see this all the time. You have to pour water back into the drain trap after you suck it out or it will flood.

Please don’t use bleach. The bleach could cause evaporator coils leaks if you have an aluminum coil. Vinegar is so much better.
