@livinglarsonhome: ✨ I made the perfect little boy birthday present 🎁 Follow @livinglarsonhome for budget-friendly DIY ideas, to learn to use power tools, and for beginner DIY tips! I found the 1x6 board for this project in the discount cart at Home Depot. $1.40 value. I had the painters tape on hand. This is a multi-surface painters tape, but I usually use the blue tape. The paint I had on hand after I bought the sample for $6 for a little project for my son’s room a year ago. The paint dabber I found in a three pack at dollar tree! If you don’t have a router, just take a little more time to sand the edges smooth. It’s important to press the tape down to seal it, and to dab the paint so it doesn’t bleed through! I didn’t show the polyurethane process, but I used a satin polyurethane. I placed 3 coats on the board. I was able to complete this easily in half a day and give it to my son in time for his birthday! A little tip… with this design, it can be easy for the cars to go off the side of the ramp. To prevent this, attach 1x2s to the sides of the 1x6. For us, it doesn’t really matter, but if you want 2 cars to race, putting 1x2s on the sides would help keep the cars on track! Save as an idea for a little boy in your life, and share this with someone wanting to make a DIY toy car road! #budgetfriendlydiy #diypresent #handmade #handmadegifts #handmadegiftideas #boybirthdayideas #easydiy #beginnerdiy
