Also gotta think about job placement, UT cares more about you signing up for their masters program and keeping you there than getting you a job after college

My son is auto admit to ut but going ivy. He purposely didn’t apply so that they would admit someone who really wanted to be there. He’s had enough Texas weather.

If you’re dead set on UT a good option is going to ACC for a year and transferring. Cheap way to knock out lower level classes too.

I remember when it was a higher percentage for auto. But so many TX HS kids are on a 5.0 gpa it’s impossible 😅

I live in austin and only my two friends who are in the top 10 of my class got in, nobody else did

Texas Ex 09 B.S. Electrical Engineering. Was hard as hell but it was worth it. That said, I wouldn't get in if I applied today. Was top ~8% in HS.

UT-A’s business school is top notch but super hard to get into, especially the Accounting program.

My son got in OOS into engineering and was admitted in early December - so definitely before 75% of class was filled with Texas residents
