It’s from the Amazon Rainforest so of course I had to put some nature field recordings from the Amazon in there too 👀🎵 🎵 Take Your Shoes off - Louis VI ft. alex cosmo blake This unbelievable looking nocturnal bird of prey comes from predominantly the South American Rainforest and is species I’d never heard of or seen before. With its unique jet black eyes and body, combined with near totally silent flight due to Owls specially designed flight feathers that both create swirling jets of air the tip of each and muffle and wind or drag create make it a formidable nighttime hunter for any lizard, mouse or large insect. Being a nature geek it’s rare to find an animal I’ve never seen anything like but this Black-Banded Owl is a first for me, what a gorgeous animal, is it a first for you or have you seen it before?? Lemme know in the comments 👀 Although it’s not directly under threat its habitat in the Amazon is, and although deforestation has slowed under Lula in Brazil, 300 year old mother trees that support 1000’s of animal, plant and fungi lives and ecosystems are being cut down and swapped for monocultures of eucalyptus, soy and dairy farming - essentially biodiversity is being killed in exchange for green deserts. If we lose the Amazon amazing creatures like this will disappear for not just our kids and our grandkids but us too.
