@itsyourfetish_: When I first started making music I had so many justifications for not sharing it with the world. I was worried about who would like it. I was afraid that labels wouldn’t want it. I thought I needed the perfect artwork, or that my “sound” wasn’t good enough. In hindsight these all feel so silly to me now, and I’ve learned that the only true reason to sit on music or any creative project, is if YOU don’t love it. Of course there is an entire world of marketing, planning, and teamwork that comes into play as your grow. But the truth is that I have seen so many projects never get off of the ground because they have a million reasons why NOT to release their music. I’m so greatful and excited about having the confidence to not only have discovered my own sound, but release it into the world with no doubts. I’m always learning, and my sound continue to change over time, but the ability to create and then let go is ESSENTIAL for any creator in an artistic endeavor.
