I'll share one. ❤️✝️The Old Testament does far more than tell us about God, it reveals His authority. It is the LORD who has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, who rebukes the sea (Nahum 1:3–4). It is the LORD who hears the cry of men upon a ship and makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still (Psalm 107:23–30). Then the New Testament does something extraordinary. The disciples, caught in a storm just like the sailors in the Psalms, cry out, not to heaven, but to Jesus, and without asking anyone for authority, He rebukes the winds and the sea, and there is a great calm (Matthew 8:23–27; Mark 4:37–41). The prophets prayed for the LORD to act, but Jesus simply spoke, and creation obeyed. The purpose of the Old Testament is not only to reveal who God is, but also to prepare us to recognize Him when He came in the flesh. The New Testament is not merely telling us that Jesus is the Son of God, it is showing us by His works that He exercises the very authority that belongs to the LORD alone. As Jesus Himself said, "Believe me... or else believe me for the very works' sake" (John 14:11). Amen ✝️✝️✝️
