So if you’re not sure, err on the side of caution, and never put your baby in more layers than you would be comfortable being in (except one additional thin layer is usually OK). Never decide that a baby is too cold based on their hands or feet feeling chilly. Blood perfusion is poor to these areas and they are not a reliable indicator of warmth. Feel their chest or the back of their neck instead. Some signs of overheating in babies include: sweating, flushed face, feeling hot to the touch, vomiting, acting unusual/restless/listless — HOWEVER, sometimes none of these signs are present or obvious.
