Why has God still not answered your prayer? Many times, it is not because God has not heard you. It is because something is wrong with the way we pray. Today, I want to share five important things people often overlook when praying. The last one is something many Christians still do not practise. First: Do not come before God with a careless heart. Do not pray while your mind is somewhere else. Put down your phone. Be still for a few minutes. Let your heart truly return to God. Second: Do not begin by only asking for things. Thank God first. Thank Him for protecting you all this time. Thank Him for everything He has given you. A grateful heart finds it easier to draw near to God. Third: Examine yourself before God first. Have you sinned against Him? Is there a sin you are unwilling to let go of? Is there someone you still refuse to forgive? Do not allow these things to become a barrier between you and God. Fourth: Do not pray only for yourself. Pray for your family, your friends, your church, and those who do not yet know God. When your attention is no longer focused only on yourself, you will begin to understand God’s heart more clearly. Fifth: Tell God honestly what you need. You do not need to use impressive words, and you do not need to repeat a fixed prayer. Speak to Him as a child speaks to a father. Tell God honestly about your weakness, your worries and your needs. What God values is not how well you pray, but whether you come before Him sincerely. If you feel that your prayers have no strength, do not give up. A powerful prayer life is not learned in a single day. It is built gradually as you draw near to God each day.
