Another one from the vault... In the spring of 1999 I got a call from Carlos Santana's management team. They wanted to use one my live photos for an upcoming Santana album, and asked me to come shoot some new publicity portraits of Carlos up on his property in Marin. That album was called Supernatural, and it would become one of the most globally successful albums of all time, winning a record setting 9 grammys, and going 15x platinum in the US alone. Suffice to say it was huge for both of our careers, was a ton of fun to shoot, and was one of my favorite sessions with Carlos in a friendship that started in the late 80's and continues to this day.
