A little bit of a more vulnerable post for me, inspired by @Danielle ♡ and her post the other day on her experience with postpartum. Social media is so often a highlight reel, or the complete opposite and only showing the negatives. I’m so conscious that I want to show the positives because there is SO many, but never for one second do I want someone to think that I don’t struggle and find it all plain sailing, and in turn feel inadequate. Today I had to strap Theo into his highchair with something on tv and a snack that he can’t choke on, and go into my room and just SOB. I have a migraine impending, fifo family life is weighing me down this swing and this week and a half of solo parenting has taken it out of me. I’m overstimulated, worn out and overwhelmed. Because we are sick Theo’s needs are higher which is SO understandable, but I’m finding it challenging. He’s also in a biting and hitting stage and doesn’t yet understand being told ‘no’ or ‘that hurts…’ I don’t want to snap at him so I’m having to take these breaks but then feeling mum guilt for needing the breaks. Just know, whatever stage of motherhood you are at. If you are struggling, and needing a break.
