Can’t wait for Friday, hence my audio choice IYKYK. 🌈✨ Anyway, I made anise pizzelles with the @luckycharms rainbow design and I think they turned out really good!  If you’ve ever made pizzelles, then you know it’s a messy process and the crispiness of the cookie depends a lot on the humidity in the air. Here’s a few of my best pizzelle-making tips to get you the crispiest cookies and less mess to clean up! ✨I’ve found that oil-based recipes come out crispier and more flavorful than butter-based recipes. ✨A lot of recipes will tell you to spoon the batter onto your pizzelle iron. This is a super messy process and the batter ends up getting everywhere. To mitigate the mess, I like to put my batter into a large PIPING BAG, and pipe it onto the iron. I find this is cleaner and allows you to do a combination of colors if you’re feeling creative. ✨When it comes to timing how long to keep the pizzelles on the iron, every iron is different! For me it’s all about the sound, when my dough slows in the sizzle, it’s probably time to take it off (I think this falls around 20-30 seconds for my iron). Experiment with your iron to figure out the best timing for you. I like my cookies on the pale side, so also pay mind to your personal preferences. ✨When cooling your pizzelles, DO NOT stack them until they are entirely cool. The steam from the cookies will get trapped and prevent you from getting that perfectly crispy finish. ✨After your pizzelles have come off the iron and have had a minute on a cooling rack, spread them out on a baking sheet and bake at 220F for 30 minutes in the oven.
