@xcaits22x: When i first broke my ankle I totally underestimated what a trimalleolar fracture was (broken in 3 places) I also underestimated how much pain i would be in and how difficult the journey and recovery was hoing to be/still is. I definitely didnt anticipate that 13 weeks later id still be in pain, limping and having to use my crutches at times. I wasnt prepared for how much if my independence id lose for the first 8-10 weeks… cant drive, cant get into the shower by myself, cant stand long enough to cook, cant carry my own tea in because of my crutches. All the small things. Ive been so lucky to have family support and a great place of work assisting me back to my job💖 Never will i ever underestimate the impact of a physical iniury on mental health as its honestly been horrendous. Also with all the bad press on the NHS its important to mention how brilliant glasgow royal infirmary were and have been with my care. From entering A&E to being discharged every nurse anf doctor i came across was amazing. Hearing horror stories from people who have had the same injury but at different hospitals makes me feel very thankful and lucky. #trimalleolarfracture #trimalleolar #brokenankle #brokenanklerecovery
