So, here’s what happened: I was coming back from an appointment, had a little time to kill, and randomly decided to wander into Anthropologie. Now, if you’re plus-size, you know this store isn’t exactly famous for stocking our sizes in-store. (Usually, we’re relegated to the online section, if we’re lucky.) But in that moment, I was really just jonesing to feel something: to actually touch fabrics, see colors, and play dress-up IRL instead of hitting “add to cart” and crossing my fingers. And honestly? I was fully prepared for disappointment. But as luck would have it…every. single. thing. I tried on fit me immaculately. Like, not just “I can squeeze into it if I really shimmy” but actually wearable, comfortable, and chic. The real challenge became deciding what was my vibe and what I could leave behind. That’s such a rare, rare feeling for plus-size women in a straight-size world, and I can’t tell you how downright exciting it was. The whole try-on felt like a dream! Rarely do I walk into a straight-size-only store and walk out feeling like the clothes were made for me. It was an absolute success, and honestly, moments like these make me feel so hopeful for more inclusivity across the board.
