@beatkitchenschool: Apologies. I’m reposting this an hour later because there was a BIG typo in one of the chord spellings and I couldn’t let it stand. Sorry if we made you watch it twice. There were some comments I wanted to respond to as well. Please ask again. This is a really useful chord progression. It’s basic stuff that sounds a lot more luscious than it should given its simplicity. We are making use of both the natural and the harmonic minor. We are looking at passing chords. There’s even a chord extension present in the C7 flat nine, and I threw in a minor/major seven at the end. The triangle symbol is shorthand for major seven if you’ve not seen that before. In the coming days I will be scheduling a next round of Musician Basics Electives. It’s a six week class, taught by me, and you can include it free when you join Beat Kitchen as a resident. We have to decide if we have people in the US or in Europe who want to join and that’s going to dictate the timeslots. raise your hand if you think you’d like to come along! #MusicTheory #Producer
