I used to host on couchsurfing a lot, and had so many people who just wanted a free hotel instead of meeting locals and learning the culture etc..

Seen some young twenty odd yr old British guys ask a supermarket worker stacking shelves if they could have some food for free (in Slovenia lake bled). They said no, felt so embrassed for them

Yep, … and they don't care. Should be laws against that. In some countries you cannot enter or get a visa unless you can show how long you will be there and how you plan to support yourself !!!
