Don’t do a rental car. Public Transport is SO easy. I just got back from there. Visit Kilkenny & Galway!

I don’t think you need a rental. I’ve gone around the whole island via train and bus. I wouldn’t stay in Dublin the whole trip (over rated). Definitely take a train over to Galway and a bus to Belfast

If you can’t rent look into the company Irish Day Tours, they’re pretty affordable whole day trips & the meeting spots for the buses are in Dublin

if you get a car you HAVE to drive the coast and sleep where you stop. Definitely include Cork (from tramore) along the ring of kerry up to connemara (past galway). Its a trip 👌

Public transport is the best, I'm from wicklow in Ireland, you can get a leap card for €5 I think and then top it up using their app and use thay to pay for most public transport but not all x

I drove as a solo traveler - I booked hotels downtown & really enjoyed the sight seeing - taking roads less traveled

I wouldn't rent from the airport, parking in Dublin will cost a fortune and it's easy to walk around/use public transport. then if you want to travel around (which you should) rent from Dublin city
