Great job, huge suggestion if anyone tries this. Add wood glue, those brad nails are a place holder. The glue will give you a forever bond between the wood.

good job. for DIY purposes I just used PL fast grab caulking. some DIYer doesn't have phenuematic braidnail.

That thing will come apart once too much weight is on. Wouldn’t be too much harder to pre drill holes and put screws in them
