The size of our livingroom was almost a deal breaker for Adam. It’s narrow and long, and god forbid the room didn’t allow the correct viewing pleasure for a 65”+ tv 🙄 He was also Adam-ant (sorry, had to) that we wouldn’t be able to do a media wall in here… Needless to say, I take pleasure in not only being right, but being so right that this room is now his favourite room in the house😆 So here’s a few of the thing’s I’ve learned since we created this space: 1. I’ll start with the obvious - mirrors are a small room’s bestie. Believe it or not, we’ve hunted for the right mirror for over a year. We’ve returned one and put one on the landing upstairs because it just wasn’t right. Last week we put up this Hesse mirror from and it’s pretty perfect! I knew I didn’t want anything “fussy”, and needed it to be as minimal as possible so it didn’t look overkill inside the panelling. I also knew it needed to be big enough, but not too big that it sits too close to the moulding… Anyway, what a difference it’s made to the balance of the room! Multifunctional furniture. Adam really wanted a corner sofa, and I really wanted a travertine coffee table that I was SO close to snapping up on Facebook marketplace! We absolutely couldn’t have both, as that would leave us with zero floor space. So we compromised on a multifunctional footstool - whereby on the very odd occasion there’s not toys all over the rug, I can style it as a “coffee table”… until the evening when Adam takes everything off it and pops his feet up 😆 3. You think you can’t, but you absolutely can fit a media wall in that small room! Actually, the sideboard we were originally using as a tv stand is deeper than the media wall is! But what the media wall does do is hide away all the toys & clutter that would otherwise overcrowd the room, leaving the rest of the room looking deceivingly minimal 😉 🏷️ small living room, #livin#livingroomdecorllivingroom - @sophsspace
