1967 SHELBY GT500 4-SPEED (#1094)! RESTORED! 1967 was the first redesign of Ford’s popular Mustang. It was also the last year that Shelby Mustang’s would be built by Shelby American in Los Angeles. (For 1968 and beyond production would shift to Ford in Michigan). The new, larger body allowed for the use of Ford’s big block 428 CI V-8 FE engine fitted with dual 4 bbl Holey 600 cfm carbs mounted on an aluminum mid-rise intake manifold. This combination provided 355 HP and 420 LB FT of torque. This extra power was welcomed in the heavier new Mustang. Two transmission options were offered, a 3-speed automatic and a 4-speed manual (featured on the car presented here). Just over 2,000 GT500s were manufactured in 1967. The car seen here (#1094) had a restoration performed by noted Shelby shop, Cobra Automotive approximately 20 years ago and has covered 1,100 miles since. More recently, Cobra Automotive rebuilt the original 428 engine and it tested on the dyno at 337 HP and 466 LB FT of torque. It features two four-barrel Holley carbs and the 4-speed transmission, the dual inboard grill mounted driving lights, a wood rimmed steering wheel, Cobra Le Mans valve covers, chrome magnum wheels, power brakes, power steering, heavy duty cooling, roll bar shoulder harnesses, an updated “vintage style” radio, and the interior décor group. It comes with a Marti report and is listed in the Shelby Registry. It is finished in Wimbledon White over a black interior with Blue Le Mans stripes. This beautiful example of the first gen of big block Shelby Mustangs is being offered by Cobra Automotive on Bring A Trailer now. We estimate this Shelby will bring $22,400
