Seen it with coolant also. Wicking. Jokeswagon is bad for that with coolant sensors. They tried braining also. Didn’t work.

I have a 2004 Jeep WJ with transmission fluid migration filling the TCM, there's a connector on the firewall leaking fluid!

Landrover discoveries with the td5 engine suffer a similar issue with injector wiring and it leaks through and goes to the ecu also

Oil doesn’t conduct electricity so I don’t see why it would cause a problem . Some engines have the injectors inside the rocket cover submerged in oil .

Caterpillar skid steers will fill the wiring harness with DEF fluid when the DEF injector gets clogged. If you don’t catch it quick enough it can contaminate the whole engine harness.

Older Mercedes transmissions had a similar problem. The main trans connector would fail and wick oil into the transmission control module.

Ford diesels also do this the fuel pressure sensor fails and fuel flows through the harness and fills the pcm with diesel
