Just a few years ago marking their 100th anniversary, they carefully renovated the historic building to include a shop and cafe, the lobby and offices transform into a museum, meanwhile the factory floor carries on tradition. Matosinhos is just 15 minutes by metro from the center of Porto, so if you’re in the area the factory tour is a must. I’ve had more Nuri spiced sardines in olive oil than any other tin of fish— it’s just that good. The artisanal approach reflects in the product, from expertly recognizing the best quality fish to aging the tins for 3 months before distribution.
