The ASEAN bloc brings together around 680 million people and has a combined economy close to 4 trillion dollars, making it one of the largest economic regions on the planet. ​If it were a single country, ASEAN would already rank among the largest economies in the world. The bloc also accounts for about 7% of global GDP. This growth highlights something important about the modern world: the center of the global economy is gradually shifting toward Asia.
