Cuffs help cuz it makes the load lighter. It gets heavier the further the weight hold is from the axes point, in this case the shoulder, the cuffs make that distance smaller so weight has less effect.

Unless you are limited by wrist extension, using a wrist band will just place less load on your lateral delt and thus make it easier to get more reps.
