@_francescaberry: ⁣ 🎾 In June 2023 I played in my first and last able-bodied tennis competition and it was pretty much the last time that I played. I did try and play a few times after but I was in too much pain and I would always end up in tears because I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to play again after my amputation, I was really sad at times to be honest. ⁣ ⁣ ⏭️Fast forward 8 months and I’m back on court with my two (one metal) feet firmly on the ground. Whilst it feels amazing to be able to play again, in the time away from playing, I’ve discovered a new passion for the game but from a different perspective - in a wheelchair. I feel stronger and more resilient than ever before, wheelchair tennis has shown me that limitations (having one leg) are only barriers waiting to be overcome, and I’m ready to conquer them all.
