the trick I always use is I know I'm right handed so I just know left is my non dominant but I don't know it that works for others

this was my problem but what helped me is knowing I'm right handed so anything on writing hand side is right and if its not then its left

I actually have the same problem! I only know because I wear a watch on my right wrist. When I take my watch off i can’t tell unless I mimic putting my watch on.

you could always paint both your thumb nails different colors and maybe train your brain to think of left and right as the colors instead
