Honestly, at this point, citizens should have a say in how their taxes are spent by filling out a checklist form alongside their taxes. The state would then distribute funds accordingly.

If you move out of the country the US still makes you pay taxes. You have to give up your citizenship entirely and that takes years and money

if you have a job that you filled out a W4 for you’ve been paying taxes all year, not a lump sum at the end. you’d have to stop paying taxes on your paycheck then not file your tax return.
