@bratbustersparenting: The most well received (and also hated article) I ever wrote was to stop expecting schools to parent. I heard from schools all over North America, they put it up in their staff room, but they couldn’t put it up where parents would look at it. Don’t expect schools to parent because you send your children to school to learn academics, to maybe learn some and do some sports, and to stay alive. That’s about it. The rest is up to you. But still, I see parents who want the schools to teach them everything. Don’t teachers have enough on their plate? Manners, behaviour, building self-esteem, navigating the world, that’s your job as a parent to teach them. That’s not the school’s job. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below! Have parenting questions? I’m offering FREE live Q&A’s on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 pm PT on Facebook and YouTube, 5:00 pm PT on Instagram and YouTube, and 5:30 pm PT on TikTok and YouTube … I’d love to see you there! ` ` ` #ParentCoaching #ParentingSupport #PositiveParenting #ParentingSkills #EmpoweredParents #EffectiveParenting

Well yeah but sometimes they act like they want to parent. I’m the parent they should work with me instead of against me

I am a firm believer that I’m responsible to parent my kids. But it’s really hard to parent from afar and he’s there all day. How do I deal with issue
