@livingouramericandream: Just wanted to share a recipe that uses maple syrup other than the traditional breakfast ways. Maple Peanut Butter Cookies -1/4 cup of unsalted softened butter -1/2 cup granulated sugar -1/2 cup maple syrup or honey -1/2 cup peanut butter -1 tsp vanilla -1 egg -1 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour -1/2 tsp baking powder -3/4 tsp baking soda -1/4 tsp salt In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Mix in maple syrup, peanut butter, egg and vanilla until fully incorporated. (If the syrup was in the fridge this may take a bit to fully incorporate) Add in your dry ingredients of flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Preheat oven to 325°. Take about 1 TBSP to a TBSP and a half of dough and roll into balls, flatten with fork on a cookie sheet. Dip fork in flour if dough is sticking to the fork. Leave about an inch or so between the cookies on the cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet in a preheated oven. Bake cookies for 10 minutes. When they come out, let them cool for two minutes on the cookie sheet before letting them finish the rest of the way cooling on a cooling rack.
