Both of my kids have had viral myositis. Luckily, it only lasted a few days. I never heard of this when we were kids.

My daughter is 6 had flu b and had calf pain and in the back of her thighs for 3 days after the fever was gone she had a hard time walking.

My sons going through this right now :( he was pretty sick Sunday night to Tuesday night. Woke up Sunday pretty good back to himself and Thursday am woke up crying in pain.
