Happened to my brother & I in the year 2000. Placed us in a detention center w/ our Mom. TJ/CA border. I was 5 my brother was a baby. They released us to my stepdad’s custody. Bro & me are American.

My mom also sat us down and told us our plan. My heart would sink to my stomach whenever there was a knock late night. Even though I had an older brother, i was in charge of seeing the plan through.
