It was one of my top 10 reads of 2023 and helped me dip my toe into thriller! It’s a fiction about gentrification in Brooklyn, but is it really fiction? 😂 I also love ‘The Nickel Boys’ by Colson Whitehead, ‘Homegoing’ by Yaa Gyasi and ‘Colliding With Fate’ by A.E. Valdez. The two former are some of my book club Fros & Prose’s favorite reads of all time, and the latter is one of my favorite romance novels ever! Add those to your TBR immediately too. #BlackBookTok has single-handedly transformed my relationship with reading and exposed me to so many great Black authors and stories.
