I would use the clear tape for the outside as hinge tape if there is a map or something on the page you're trying to add tape to, that's just me though

I love that you don’t get angry about books that come back in not the best condition. Our librarian used to scream at us if they didn’t come back perfect

note the material of the spine for future you may need to clear tape the spine before heat and glue
