I’m friends a bunch of creators, and we’re constantly refining our videos to make the algorithm happy. So we know a thing or two! Lmao ➡️ Here’s what the algorithm likes • Minimum 15 second average watch time. • 10%+ interaction rate compared to total plays. • Shares are worth the most weight, then Saves, Then Comments, Then likes. • If your video is getting you a lot of followers, the above doesn’t matter as much. ➡️ Okay, now to the strategy: Your first goal is to keep people watching past 3 seconds. This is your hook (Your first few words or sentence). Your hook should pique curiosity, be quick, and give people a reason to keep watching. Make a promise to them that will pay off at the end of the video. Your second goal is to… keep people watching for another 3-6 seconds. Start showing or telling them what you promised them. The last few seconds of your video should deliver on the promise you made with your hook. ➡️ The process: Script your video. Put in the time and don’t be lazy. The first video I helped my wife with took 1.5 hours to script 3 sentences. Every word she said added to the story and anticipation of the promise. Read that again, cut out any “ums”, “ahs”, breaths, and words that don’t contribute to the story. And finally, make sure to DELIVER on the promise. It will encourage people to share, save, comment, and like your video. ➡️ The real secret You likely won’t get this your first time, keep creating and posting videos until you get it.
