Here in Mn they passed a bill to feed every child lunch and breakfast regardless their home income… I thought every state was doing this. 🥺

I’ve seen kids served a peanut butter sandwich instead of the menu lunch if they owed money. Makes me furious! And now we’re giving money away left and right but can’t let a kid eat? 😡

the worst thing is the amount that gets thrown away at the end of lunchtime, I used to work for the schools and we HAD to throw the food away at the end of the day, and couldn't let kids take a 1/2

in our school district in California give free breakfast and lunch daily. during the summer they give free lunches 5 days a week.

Utah is still $7.25. 80 hours isn’t even $600 BEFORE taxes. So it’s better to not even work and get assistance then work and you would be worse off monthly between health insurance and food.

This just breaks my heart. I imagine they’re little faces at the table when there food gets taken away. And some kids don’t even have food at home this could be there only meal. 🥹

My school district was only free during covid, then it was free, reduced or full price. Full price lunch was ridiculous. I packed for my kids 98% of the days. Other schools around us free for all

Thankfully we had a lunch lady that would always bring extra cash with her to help the kids that couldn't pay for lunch. Me included. She ended up getting fired for it...She was an amazing person.
